Fermented garlic honey
Ingredients:
1 Jar of good quality honey (you can use either clover or wildflower honey depending on your tastes)
10-12 Whole garlic cloves, peeled
Directions:
Fill a sterilized jar about half way with garlic cloves.
Pour the honey into the jar and screw the top on.
Place the garlic honey in a cabinet and let it ferment. It’s a good idea to put a plate or paper towel under the jar because sometimes the honey oozes out due to the fermentation process. That’s okay! It’s a good thing!
Ferment your honey for about a month— occasionally agitating the jar— before using in recipes. Garlic honey can keep in your cabinet for about a year.
Fermented honey is an incredible ingredient. It’s amazing for basting, marinades, dressings, and to use as a cold remedy. Enjoy!
